What Does This Privacy Policy Cover?

This privacy policy covers Ease Tech LLC's treatment of personally identifiable information that Ease Tech LLC collects when you are on its websites (including SpeechEase.com and its subdomains), and when you use Ease Tech LLC services. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Ease Tech LLC does not own or control, or to people that Ease Tech LLC does not employ or manage.

What Information is Collected and How is it Used?

Ease Tech LLC collects personally identifiable information when you register for a SpeechEase.com account, when you use SpeechEase.com services, and when you visit SpeechEase.com pages. When you register with SpeechEase.com, we ask for your name, email address, time zone, and a password. You may optionally provide your phone number for texting or as an emergency contact for tournament personnel. Once you register and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous. Ease Tech LLC automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser including your IP Address, SpeechEase.com cookie information, the page you requested, and certain browser information. Ease Tech LLC uses this information for these general purposes:
  • to provide the services on the SpeechEase.com site and in SpeechEase.com services,
  • to customize the content you see,
  • to allow tournament managers to contact you,
  • to provide notifications about tournaments,
  • to provide information about tournament results,
  • and to contact you about our services or products.
Ease Tech LLC collects personally identifiable information about tournament participants when a user enters their information in their roster or a tournament manager adds a participant to a tournament. This information is a student or other participant's name, graduation year, and years of experience. Ease Tech LLC discloses the name of participants registered for a tournament to:
  • the tournament manager of the tournaments you attend,
  • tournament tab room personnel of the tournaments you attend,
  • other coaches, judges, and participants of the tournaments you attend,
  • and website visitors if the tournament manager has made results public.
Students, their parents/guardians, schools, and coaches have the right to opt-out of public results. Contact support AT speechease.com to request that a student name(s) that should not appear in public tournament results. Schools and coaches should make the request from their official school email. Parents/guardians and students should contact their coach to make the request on their behalf. If a coach is no longer available, an email should be sent to support AT speechease.com with the following:
  • student name
  • school name with city and state
  • the individual's relationship to the student
  • a statement of the accuracy of the notice and that the requesting party is authorized to act on the behalf of the student.

Is My Information Shared or Disclosed?

Ease Tech LLC will share your information with tournament managers for the sole purpose of contacting you for that specific tournament. Ease Tech LLC makes a good faith effort to ensure that all prospective tournament managers are affiliated with a school or team prior to allowing these entities to access this information. Ease Tech LLC may share your information with coaches who attempt to register you as a judge at a tournament or attempt to add you as a coach for a school they administer. Ease Tech LLC may share your information with participants of tournaments that you attend. Ease Tech LLC does not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to any other entities. Ease Tech LLC may send personally identifiable information about you to other companies or persons if: we respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, and/or we find that your actions on our web sites violate the Terms of Use or any other usage guidelines.

Ease Tech LLC will share your name, e-mail address, and if provided and given permission to send you text messages, your mobile phone number with vendors who provide communication services. Any other information shared with third parties is shared for the purposes of operating the core purpose of SpeechEase, to manage tournaments. The providers of these services are not allowed to rent or sell your personal information. Providers may share information if required to comply with the law or a binding order of a governmental body.

Ease Tech LLC uses analytics to determine how users are using the website, and to improve our services. Information collected may include your IP address, which may allow Ease Tech LLC to determine your general geographic location, and information about your web browser and website views to help us determine what features on our website should be implemented, as well as for troubleshooting. No personally identifiable information is shared in this process, and individuals cannot be identified. When you login to SpeechEase.com, your sessions may be tied to a user identification number, a random number assigned to your account. This is used by Ease Tech LLC to determine how users interact with the website before and after a login and to determine if certain devices may be causing problems for our users.

Does SpeechEase.com Use Cookies?

Ease Tech LLC may set and access SpeechEase.com cookies on your computer. Interfering with cookies is strictly against the Terms of Use, and may result in limitation or termination of your SpeechEase.com account without notice. Cookies we use include:

Ease Tech LLC may amend this policy from time to time. If we make any substantial changes in the way we use your personal information, an update will be posted to this page.
