You are cordially invited to the 'Dragon Invitational' tournament in Collierville, TN on Saturday December 2nd, 2023.
This is a 3 round tournament with 1 judge per round with a 3 judge final.
We will be using THSSDL Rules for all High School events with the exception of Impromptu which will use a three prompt card used throughout the round for all competitors.
Schools are allowed to bring as many entries in each event as they would like with the exception of HS Public Forum Debate and MS Public Forum debate where schools will be limited to 5 teams. Tripling will be allowed in all events with the following exceptions: Debate may not double, Competitors may not compete in both Extemp and TV, Competitiors in Extemp and TV can only double.
We will be debating the NSDA November/ December topic for PFD:
Resolved: The United States federal government should forgive all federal student loan debt.
Please note that registration is a TWO-STEP process. Please pre-register on SpeechEase.com before the Pre-Registration Deadline noted in this invitation. This will help us determine the total number of schools attending. Your final registration must be received by the Registration Deadline.

Please make sure all judges have accounts with Speechease and that those accounts are linked for the tournament as we will be utilizing online ballots.
All judges will be pooled for both Middle School and High School competition.

The cafeteria will have food, drinks, and snacks, and we ask that you plan to stay on campus for lunch to support our program and help keep the tournament running on schedule.
Additionally, we will have a hospitality lounge for judges and coaches.
Finalists in each event will receive awards and sweepstakes awards will be given to the top three high school teams and top three middle school teams.

A weather event that causes Collierville Schools to cancel classes on Friday will also result in the tournament being cancelled. In that event, we will give notice as early as possible.
