Fellow Coach,
It is a pleasure to invite your school to the The Showstopper Invitational in Johnson City, TN on Saturday November 18th, 2023.
This will be a 3-round (1 judge per round) tournament with a final round (3 judges per event).
Schools are allowed to bring as many entries in each event as they would like. Each contestant is allowed 3 entries in total. PFD competitors will be allowed to double. Novice Poetry and Prose are events for students in their first year of competition only.
Please note that registration is a TWO-STEP process. Please pre-register on SpeechEase.com by Friday November 10th, 2023 at 7:00 PM. This will help us determine the total number of schools attending, as well as plan for concessions. Your final registration must be received by Tuesday, November 14th, 2023 at 7:00 PM. The Drop/Add Deadline will be Wednesday, November 15th, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.
Flat Fee | Per-Entry Fee | |
---|---|---|
$ 15.00 | plus | $ 8.00 |
Please make checks payable to Science Hill High School.
One judge for every 6 entries or a fraction thereof. Debate requires 1 judge for every two teams. If you do not bring the required judges, please adjust your entries to correspond to the number of judges you have available. There are NO HIRED JUDGES.
If you are aware of drops, please don't wait until arriving at the tournament to notify us. Even though the schedules are printed before this date, knowing about a drop before is helpful. You are welcome to use the online drop/add reporting at SpeechEase.com after you have submitted your final registration, but it is preferred that you give me a call or text at (423) 276-3730.
The cafeteria will be serving food, drinks, and snacks, and we would appreciate your patronage. A well supplied and maintained judges and coaches lounge will be available all day including lunch.
We will give Sweepstakes awards for the top 3 schools. There will also be individual awards for the top 6 speakers.
