Happy Valley Invitational Invitation

You are invited to the 'Happy Valley Invitational' tournament on Saturday October 19th, 2024.

The tournament will be held at Happy Valley High School on 121 Warpath Lane in Elizabethton, TN.  For those that don't know where we are, we are about 7.5 miles from Science Hill High School. 

The tournament will feature the following events:

3. Duet Acting

4. Duo Interp

5. Extemp

6. Humorous Interp

7. Impromptu

8. Improv Duet

9. Info

10. OO

11. OSW

12. PANT

13. POE

14. POI

15. PRO

16. PFD

17. SOLO

18. STORY

19. TVB

This will be a 3-round tournament with a final round.

Schools are allowed unlimited entries in each event.

Each contestant is allowed to triple except the following exceptions.

Debaters may only single.

Extemp & TVB may double.

Please note that registration is a TWO-STEP process. Please pre-register on SpeechEase.com before the Pre-Registration Deadline noted in this invitation. This will help us determine the total number of schools attending. Your final registration must be received by the Registration Deadline.

One judge for every 6 entries or a fraction thereof. Judges cannot be hired from the host school.

If you are aware of drops, please don't wait until arriving to notify us. You are welcome to use the online drop/add reporting at SpeechEase.com after you have submitted your final registration.

The cafeteria will be serving food, drinks, and snacks, and we would appreciate your patronage. Also, we will be selling "THSSDL Forensics is my Sport" logo t-shirts in Tennessee Orange. Please send me a preorder of sizes if you can.

We will give Sweepstakes awards for the top 3 schools and a small school division trophy.

If inclement weather should cause cancellation of the tournament, we, along with our principal, will make that determination by 6:00 AM on the day of the tournament. If your school has confirmed its entry and decides not to attend and the tournament is held, your school is still responsible for all fees and judges.
